Notes: Bertok investigates a very dark subject; death. Thus he is also tapping into man’s darkest fears of pain, agony and the final consequences of life. In the Western culture, the unsettling and morbid facts of death are hidden behind the doors of mortuaries. The resulting two-part book is a disturbing set of photographs, leaving us to contemplate the final end.
